one of Indonesian painter, Affandi Koesoema or better known as Affandi was born in Cirebon in 1907. his father R.Koesoema is a paramedic measuring in sugar factory, so he lucky to get a decent education than their peers. but from all of disciplines he is more interested in painting. with his talent and interested in painting, he began to paint by joining with an artist group "Lima" in Bandung. in 1945 he had his first exhibition in "Poetra building" Jakarta and since then his name become widely known not only in Indonesia but also aboard. he marry with Maryati at the age of 26 years and they had a daughter named Kartika who was also a painter.
Affandi take a prioritize the freedom of expession to painting, so some people say he is an expressionist painter style. maybe he is the most Indonesian famous painter in a whole world, it's all because his distinctive expressionist style. his works widely hunted after by collectors of painting and appreciated very expensive, ranging 600 million to 4,5 billion. a fantastic price for an artwork. untill he died on 23 May 1990 he produced more than 2000 painting and we still able to enjoy up to now in the Affandi Museum, Yogyakarta.
